Upcoming 6-7 seater MPV Kia carnes to arrives in the early 2022 with 3 engine options and 5 variants.

Kia is going to lauch it's 4th car in India, a 6-7 seater MPV Kia carnes which has already debuted in past 16th December 2021. This is based on the platform of Kia Seltos. This cars range between Kia Seltos and Kia carnival. Kia carnes is going to give a direct competition to Toyota Innova, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6, Mahindra Marazzo...

Length of car will be 4540mm along with 2780mm wheelbase which is 30mm more than Innova.
Height and width of the car is going to be 1700 and 1800 respectively. Although ground clearance of car is not mentioned but the expected measurement will be somewhere around 190mm-200mm

Engine Gear box options.

This car is also going to get the same engine options which we have seen in kia Seltos.

Below the hood, the Kia Carnes offers two petrol engines and a diesel engine. The first is a 115hp, 144Nm, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will solely be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Then there is 140hp, 242Nm, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Lastly, the diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit that produces 115hp and 250Nm of peak torque and Kia offers either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. These engine-gearbox combinations are the same as the ones offered in the Seltos.

Variants and features lists.

Kia  Carens will going to be sold in five variants – Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury and Luxury Plus – and also get six- and seven-seat layouts, depending on the variant.


The base Carens trim will come kitted with 16-inch steel wheels with covers, two-tone black and beige interiors with indigo accents, semi-leatherette seats, second row seat one-touch electric tumble, a 7.5-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, ABS, ESC, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors and a tyre pressure monitoring system.


In addition to all the features from the Premium trim, the Prestige adds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, a 12.5-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 6-speaker sound system, rear view camera, Outside Rear View Mirrors with integrated turn signals and front parking sensors.

Prestige Plus

This trim further adds 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, multiple drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sport – with the latter only available on the DCT variants, rear washer and wiper and a rear defogger.


The Luxury trim gets LED headlights, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Kia Connect UI that will feature OTA updates, 64-colour ambient cabin lighting, an air purifier, telescopic steering wheel adjustment, full leatherette seats and seatback tables for the second row.

Luxury Plus

The top-spec Luxury Plus trim features an 8-speaker BOSE sound system, a cooled wireless charger, ventilated seats, rain sensing wipers and a standard sized sunroof.

Booking information expected pricing.

Booking for the Carens start on January 14 and expecting that Kia is going to Price it around Rs 12 lakh for the entry-level variant, going upto Rs 21.5 lakh for the top-spec diesel automatic trim. 

Safety features.

Kia Carens uses high-strength steel and adhesives to ensure comprehensive safety for you and your family, by reducing the impact in case of a crash.

Safety features include six airbags as standard across all trims, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill-assist control (HAC), downhill brake control (DBC), all-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD, Seatbelt  pretensioner with load limiter, front and rear sensor, and TPM(Tyer pressure monitor system).
